About Orbeliani 

Orbeliani is both an online platform and an organization. Through the platform we give people tools to help their community in creative ways and offer donors a new way to channel their funds into promoting change efficiently and directly. Orbeliani will engage those who have bright ideas but are new to the process of getting donor funding. They will pursue initiatives easily without heavy administrative responsibilities. All proposals assume non-salaried "volunteer" positions for implementation.

Once people submit ideas, a joint committee will select the best ones and pay for the things the applicants need through bank transfers. The idea implementation is monitored through the idea’s “story thread”. The applicants, the end-users and public can share video/photo materials and post comments on that thread which is becoming a place where others can see, engage and learn.

Orbeliani’s own operation costs as well as the program expenses will be publicly available, in real time including each and every individual payment. This way we also promote much needed transparency in the civil sector.

Scope of work

Orbeliani's crowdfunding platform requires annual updates and development. Our goal is to create a flexible, simple, comfortable and well-functioning crowdfunding platform which also increases transparency for the donors; New functions should be added to the platform and existing ones should be updated/improved. Orbeliani will work with a professional team that will provide technical improvements to the platform; this will require branding, design as well as technical support for which we have developed a backlog. Goal of platform design is to create a strong, positive perception of a company, its products or services in the authors’ and donors’ mind; to increase trust and ease navigation;
platform design: in addition to technical improvements, the platform needs a visual update; A team of professionals will work on the design of the platform, who will create:

Tasks and deliverables:

Anticipated Compensation.  

In exchange for complete and satisfactory performance of the work described in this SOW, Contractor  Agency shall receive the following anticipated compensation for the work, unless this SOW is earlier terminated pursuant to the Agreement. 

Anticipated Payment: 3,000 USD (Gross)

Qualifications, Specialized Experience and Additional Competencies:

• Professional expertise in ui/ux experience. 

• Similar experience with the digital product is a distinct advantage.

• Analysis of the current situation in the project and definition/updating of project needs;

• Organization and coordination of information exchange to support the proper management of project processes (organization of meetings, calls, video calls);

Activists Present Report on Sources of Lead Pollution in Tbilisi

A group of civic activists and NGOs presented a report on sourced of lead pollution in Tbilisi. The initiative is part of community initiative which aims to bring awareness of the issue in Georgia and mount pressure on the government to take more tangible steps to address the issue.

Oct 30 17: People at the heart of change

Orbeliani believes that donors and support agencies in Georgia have an important role to play in creating the enabling conditions to help community-led initiatives to flourish. On the 30th of October 2017, Orbeliani held an event for change-agents, funders and support agnecies to explore how to further release the creativity, experience, ideas, energy, time and insight of local people themselves?

The event was structured around three thematic sessions, which included live poll of audience on key issues, group discussion and feedback via a repeated live poll, and brief panel discussions.

- How can funders and support agencies better help communities to achieve this vision for change? 

- How can technology connect us with change makers and boost development in the communities?

An open conference and learning event was organized  in Tbilisi, Georgia on April 20, 2017. Over 30 volunteers from I Belong participated in t. The conference underscored that volunteers under the project seek to address a wide and diverse range of challenges in a range of different ways, with equally diverse impacts on their communities.
